Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in medical/health physics, physical science, engineering, or other scientific field.
  • Motivated work ethic, detail oriented, and systematic in thinking and approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • After hours and weekend work required.
  • Lifting 25 lbs max.
  • Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional to frequent standing & walking.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Medical Physics team with routine quality assurance tasks.
  • Perform routine medical physics tasks, under the supervision of a Medical Physicist.
  • Assist in the collection of quality assurance data with various radiation detectors (EPID, ion chambers, diodes, survey meters, etc) and other tasks under the supervision of a Medical Physicist.
  • Keep accurate records of data analysis and documentation, and be able to present data to the Medical Physicists.
  • Collaborate with members of the radiation oncology team (physicists, physicians, dosimetrists, therapists, nursing staff, IT, etc.) to carry out quality assurance and process improvement duties.
  • Perform other duties to support Division of Medical Physics as needed.
