About The Position

MedVet is a fast-growing emergency and specialty veterinary provider with practices nationwide, offering advanced medical treatments and innovations. The Medical Oncology Veterinary Assistant joins a collaborative clinical team and helps deliver compassionate, attentive care to patients and clients. The role supports chemotherapy treatments and requires strong venipuncture skills, attention to detail, multitasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Assistants also manage client communications and appointments, gather patient histories, handle invoicing and discharges, schedule visits, and maintain accurate medical records.

Requirements

• Prior veterinary experience.
• Proficiency in calculations, including drug calculations, constant rate infusions, and unit conversions.
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chemotherapy treatments, including performing venipuncture.
• Coordinate and manage client communication by phone and email.
• Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, handle invoicing and patient discharges, and schedule visits.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in medical records.
