About The Position

MedVet is a fast-growing emergency and specialty veterinary provider with practices nationwide, offering advanced medical treatments and innovations. The Medical Oncology Veterinary Assistant joins a collaborative clinical team and helps deliver the MedVet experience to clients, patients, and teammates through teamwork, leadership, and compassion. This role supports a close-knit medical oncology team caring for patients and clients affected by cancer. It requires compassion, excellent patient care, attention to detail, multitasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The assistant helps with chemotherapy treatments and gains experience in chemotherapy care. The initial hiring range is $24–$29 per hour, based on skillset and experience. Employment is contingent on passing a drug screen and background check. MedVet is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

Prior veterinary experience is required.
Proficiency in calculations, including drug calculations, constant rate infusions, and unit conversions.
Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous oncology experience is desired.

Responsibilities

Assist with chemotherapy treatments, using excellent venipuncture skills.
Coordinate and manage client communication by phone and email.
Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, process invoices, discharge patients, and schedule appointments.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in medical records.
