The Medical Office Records Clerk is responsible for the following duties: Properly handles medical records consistent with institutional goals and standards of accrediting, regulatory agencies, legal requirements and department guidelines. Works independently to complete duties, consulting with clinical and non-clinical staff and adheres to established priority flow to ensure timeliness. Applies HIPAA Privacy regulations as appropriate in carrying out duties. Communicates with physicians and other providers and other staff members regarding medical records. Assists with team projects in area of expertise to contribute to achievement of common goals and objectives. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
