About The Position

The first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming, respectful and efficient experience. Experience includes scheduling of appointments, managing patient check-in and check-out, verifying demographic and insurance information, maintaining accurate records while upholding confidentiality.

Requirements

  • 2 years progressively responsible work-related experience

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and triage needs of patient in person.
  • Field phone calls from patients, pharmacies, outside clinics and other community partners to facilitate patient needs.
  • Contact patients to schedule appointments for either incoming referrals, follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain schedule for team of 8-10 providers, including re-scheduling patient appointments due to conflict or missed patient appointments, checking appointments for accuracy.
  • Review scheduled appointments for insurance accuracy, updating incorrect appointments to replace appropriate policies.
  • Communicate professionally with patients via electronic, verbal and in-person conversation, respond to patient portal messages
  • Scan external documentals form providers/patients into patient chart, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Fax documents to outside providers/entities ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Send medical medical records as requested by outside entities or clinical staff ensurance accuracy and compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Distribute, collect and process sliding fee scale applications, including following up on overdue applications and sending determination letters for fully processed applications and scanning documents into patient chart,
  • Accept patient payments for clinical visits for current or previous balances via cash, check or credit card.
  • Count and records cash box balance daily.
  • Review patient accounts prior to appointment to ensure updated paperwork is prepared and collected in accordance with clinic policy,
  • Attend team huddle, committee meetings and other staff meetings as needed.
  • Assist in development of workflows to maximize efficiency and improve front desk procedures.
