About The Position

Clearwaters.IT is hiring Medical Office Clerks to provide clerical office support for the Air Force Accession Center. This role includes remote and in-office tasks supporting medical operations across 65 MEPS locations. Responsibilities include managing patient records, coordinating documentation for healthcare providers, ensuring timely arrival of medical files, and facilitating internal referrals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting.
  • Basic knowledge of clinical procedures and familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Must possess an active T-1 Security Clearance or higher.
  • Experience with unique Military Healthcare Systems/Processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certification in medical assisting or related field preferred.
  • Experience with unique Military Healthcare Systems/Procedures.
  • Experience with Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), Composite Health Care Systems (CHCS) and/or MHS GENESIS, Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), Air Force Recruiting Information Support System (AFRISS) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate general instructions to applicants and refer them to appropriate Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) sections as needed
  • Retrieve, update, and file medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Organize and research patient records, extract required information, and verify data for consistency with established guidelines
  • Ensure timely arrival and availability of medical records before scheduled appointments
  • Initiate and locate medical records when requested by staff or healthcare providers
  • Obtain supporting documentation, or medical records not yet filed, to assist medical processing
  • Perform general clerical and administrative tasks to support medical operations and ensure smooth workflow
  • Adhere to all healthcare policies, safety regulations, and confidentiality standards including HIPAA compliance.
