The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) performs registration and clerical support functions for the Primary Care Clinic, which sees patients and families requiring high-priority care within 24 hours. This role operates within a team-based model of care, reporting to the Program Manager, and supports the local Community of Care (CoC) service delivery model and primary care network in accordance with VCH policies and procedures. Urgent and Primary Care Centres (UPCCs) provide care for unexpected, non-life-threatening conditions that need medical attention within 12-24 hours but do not require an emergency department visit, such as sprains, cuts, infections, mild asthma attacks, and less serious childhood illnesses or injuries. The multidisciplinary healthcare team includes general practitioners, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and social workers. UPCCs are designed to be an additional community service, working with other care touchpoints to offer appropriate urgent services to patients when and where they need them.
