About The Position

In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients, staff, and referral sources by managing front office operations efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being the anchor of a clinic and keeping operations running smoothly. As you master this role, you’ll take on increased responsibility—becoming a go-to resource for front office operations, supporting training and process improvements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a related healthcare administration role
  • Ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy required.
  • Ability to work with handicapped individuals.
  • Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and e-mail.
  • Ability to use all necessary office equipment, facsimile machines, calculator, postage machine, copier, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a receptionist position or experience with medical front office procedures preferred.
  • Be at minimum a good fit for the job, as determined by the Talent Sorter assessment preferred. Hanger will administer the Talent Sorter as part of the selection process
  • Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone) and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of Alpha filing system.
  • Understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology and an understanding of front office (receptionist) duties preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary front‑of‑office contact for patients and visitors
  • Manage patient intake, registration, and insurance verification
  • Collect copays, deductibles, and co‑insurance
  • Schedule follow‑up appointments and coordinate care plans
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records
  • Partner with internal teams (including RCM) to support clinic operations
  • Help identify workflow improvements and support front office consistency
