About The Position

This non-clinical position supports the department by performing a broad range of clerical duties. The role involves preparing correspondence, following up with providers and members, reviewing service requests for completeness, entering information into a database, compiling data, and running reports. The coordinator also handles telephone calls, answers non-clinical questions, takes information, or refers callers to appropriate parties. Additionally, the position requires investigating and researching calls from various parties to facilitate the authorization process. The duties are clerical and do not involve the interpretation of clinical information or evaluations.

Requirements

  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of Health Care Sanctions background check
  • Ability to reason logically and to use good judgment when interpreting materials or situations
  • Ability to organize time effectively and set priorities
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Two years related work experience in medical, insurance or doctor’s office environment
  • Successful completion of college level education in health-related field
