About The Position

This role is responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. The position follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory requirements are met. The Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel and collaborates with other departments across the enterprise. This role demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Associates degree in Laboratory Science required (for MLT)
Bachelors degree in Laboratory Science required (for MLS)
Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or be registry eligible
Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment
If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed or have a provisional license, by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice
Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications
May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
