About The Position
The Medical Laboratory Scientist shall provide timely and courteous service to patients, physicians, and hospital staff by performing laboratory analyses accurately and efficiently. This individual shall detect unusual conditions and assume responsibility for problem solving. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a chemical, biological, or clinical/medical laboratory science.
- Clinical laboratory training culminating in national certification as defined by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry.
- Active ASCP Medical Technologist (MT), ASCP Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), ASCP Microbiology, or equivalent certification.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
- Strong team leadership skills.
- Strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to develop trust with leaders in the organizations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Proven track record of successful performance.
- Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
