Performs a variety of technical and general duties at a basic skills and knowledge level, functioning in one or more laboratory divisions. This role involves performing routine and/or specialized testing and procedures with supervision, operating laboratory instruments, and performing quality control. The position also includes tasks such as inoculating, cultivating, and identifying microorganisms, grouping or typing blood, performing chemical and/or immunological tests, counting and describing blood and body fluid cells, and performing coagulation testing. Additionally, the role involves preparing reagents, training other employees, consulting with medical staff, participating in research activities, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
