Medical Laboratory Scientist (Immunohematology) - Multiple Shifts Available
About The Position
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking detail-oriented, collaborative Immunohematology Medical Laboratory Scientists to work in its full-service, accredited Immunohematology Reference Laboratory in Jacksonville, Florida. The role supports lifesaving patient care by resolving complex immunohematology and compatibility issues and ensuring the safest blood for patients. The lab emphasizes communication, continuous learning, and shared expertise. Day and overnight shift schedules are available, with no on-call requirements. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided. A criminal background check and drug screen are required upon a conditional offer of hire.
Requirements
- National certification as MT/CLS/MLS through ASCP, AAB, or AMT, including immunohematology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, or Biological Science.
- Familiarity with blood banking.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen upon conditional offer of hire.
Nice To Haves
- SBB(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) certification.
- Substantial clinical laboratory experience and advanced credentials may qualify candidates for compensation above the listed range.
Responsibilities
- Work in a full-service, accredited Immunohematology Reference Laboratory.
- Resolve complex immunohematology and compatibility issues to ensure the safest blood for patients.
