Medical Laboratory Scientist (Immunohematology) - Multiple Shifts Available
About The Position
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is hiring detail-oriented, collaborative Immunohematology Medical Laboratory Scientists for its full-service, accredited Immunohematology Reference Laboratory in Jacksonville, Florida. The role supports lifesaving patient care by resolving complex immunohematology and compatibility issues and helping ensure patients receive the safest blood. The lab culture emphasizes communication, continuous learning, and shared expertise. Day shifts are available Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or as five 8-hour shifts. Overnight shifts may be scheduled as five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts. Eligible evening and overnight hours receive a 15%–20% shift differential. There are no on-call requirements. A relocation bonus may be available to qualified candidates. The starting salary is $31.00–$40.80 per hour. Candidates with substantial clinical laboratory experience and advanced credentials may be offered compensation above this range. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided. A criminal background check and drug screen are required upon a conditional offer of hire.
Requirements
- National certification as MT/CLS/MLS with ASCP, AAB, or AMT, including immunohematology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, or Biological Science.
- Familiarity with blood banking.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.
Nice To Haves
- SBB(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) certification.
- Substantial clinical laboratory experience and advanced credentials may qualify candidates for compensation above the stated range.
