About The Position

As a medical laboratory assistant, you will join a team of laboratory professionals in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art laboratory service. Under the direction of the laboratory supervisor, you will collaborate with members of the laboratory team to ensure the needs of patients and customers are being met. You will support pre-analytical laboratory tasks, point-of-care testing, and phlebotomy as assigned. This is a pool position. The hourly pay rate is $22.80.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete a fingerprint clearance card application within seven days of hire and present the actual card within 90 days of applying. The card must remain valid for its entire period of issuance and be renewed before expiration.
• Good verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively read, write, and speak English, including basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Excellent time management and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Creative, analytical, and independent thinking.
• Approachable, open to feedback, and flexible to change.
• Ability to support and maintain policies and processes.
• Professionalism, enthusiasm, and the knowledge and skill necessary to perform laboratory assisting and venipuncture techniques.

Responsibilities

• Support pre-analytical laboratory tasks.
• Perform point-of-care testing as assigned.
• Perform phlebotomy as assigned.
• Collaborate with laboratory team members to help meet patient and customer needs.
