This position involves three rotations within Anatomic Pathology, including the Gross Room, the Send-Out/Research Office, and a Float rotation with duties such as digital scanning. The primary focus is on providing clerical and patient care support, particularly in specimen collection and processing. Responsibilities include patient registration, specimen accessioning, various types of specimen collection (venipuncture, capillary, sweat chloride, etc.), ensuring proper specimen preparation and processing, and performing waived laboratory testing. The role requires maintaining laboratory operations through equipment maintenance, quality control, and preventive maintenance, while adhering to applicable laws and regulations. Service excellence and quality patient care are emphasized, requiring adaptability in communication, problem-solving skills, and efficient handling of interruptions and changing environments.
