About The Position

The Anatomic Pathology Manager provides administrative, operational, and technical leadership for Anatomic Pathology services including Histology and Cytology operations. This individual is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the anatomic pathology laboratory including specimen accessioning, histology processing, microtomy, staining, cytology preparation and screening, quality assurance programs, staffing management, and regulatory compliance. They collaborate closely with Pathologists, the Core Laboratory Medical Director, the Core Laboratory Director, and hospital leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services supporting surgical pathology and cytology testing. The manager ensures laboratory operations comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements, while maintaining operational efficiency, diagnostic quality, and turnaround time expectations for patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in histotechnology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, or related field required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of anatomic pathology laboratory experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience in histology or cytology required.

Nice To Haves

  • ASCP certification preferred, including one of the following: HT (ASCP) – Histotechnician, HTL (ASCP) – Histotechnologist, CT (ASCP) – Cytotechnologist
  • Knowledge of histology processing, microtomy, special stains, immunohistochemistry, cytology preparation, and laboratory workflow systems preferred.
  • Experience managing multi-site laboratory operations or centralized core laboratory services preferred.
