About The Position

The Medical Lab Technologist performs laboratory duties, including storing and labeling specimens and using manual and automatic equipment to prepare specimens and conduct analytical tests. The role also involves preparing laboratory solutions, reagents, and stains; maintaining and calibrating testing equipment; processing samples; creating reports; and communicating laboratory updates to nursing and physician staff. The technologist is expected to provide strong customer service, stay organized, communicate effectively, and use technology and PC tools proficiently.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Medical Lab Technician qualification through either an Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or a Bachelor of Science degree with Board Certification as an MLT.
• Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with patient contact.
• Previous experience with a laboratory or hospital computer system.
• Previous experience as an MLT in a hospital laboratory.
• Knowledge of program development and administration.
• ASCP certification.

Responsibilities
