About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join the team at Swedish First Hill Hospital Lab in Seattle, Washington. The position performs routine and complex laboratory testing and technical procedures to support quality patient care. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with rotating weekends.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Life Science or Medical Technology.
ASCP or AMT certification.
High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Exceptional customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Determine whether specimens are acceptable for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions related to testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with specimen processing when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
