About The Position

PAML, a Labcorp company, is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to join its team in Yakima, Washington. The position works in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and challenging environment, contributing to Labcorp’s mission of improving health and improving lives. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; overtime and additional days or hours may be required.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
High attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfort working under minimal supervision.
Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience working in a clinical or hospital laboratory.
ASCP or AMT certification.

Responsibilities

Determine whether specimens are acceptable for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
Assist with specimen processing when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
