About The Position

Harrison County Hospital is seeking a Certified Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician for a PRN position with rotating shifts as needed. Laboratory technicians collect and process specimens, perform tests, and report results to provide information for patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring, or for others involved in diagnosing and treating patients. They also perform duties needed for laboratory operations, including inventory management, supply ordering, proficiency testing, quality control, competency activities, procedure development, and performance improvement.

Requirements

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist by AMT or ASCP.
• Must be qualified to serve as a General Supervisor or testing personnel under CLIA ’88.
• Adhere to the hospital Corporate Compliance Plan.
• Complete annual PPD and annual Fire/Safety Training.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Clinical experience as a component of educational programs.

Nice To Haves

• One to three years of clinical hospital work experience is desired.
