About The Position
Harrison County Hospital is seeking a certified Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician for a PRN position with rotating shifts as needed. The role performs specimen collection and processing, testing, and result reporting to support the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients. Laboratory technicians also perform operational duties such as inventory management, supply ordering, proficiency testing, quality control, competency activities, procedure development, and performance improvement.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist by AMT or ASCP.
- Must be qualified to serve as a General Supervisor or testing personnel under CLIA ā88.
- An associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- Clinical experience as a component of educational programs.
Nice To Haves
- One to three years of clinical hospital work experience is desired.
Responsibilities
- Collect and process specimens.
- Perform laboratory tests and report results to support the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients.
- Perform laboratory operations duties, including inventory management, supply ordering, proficiency testing, quality control, competency activities, procedure development, and performance improvement.
- Adhere to the hospital Corporate Compliance Plan.
- Complete annual PPD and annual fire/safety training.
