About The Position

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) is hiring a Medical Lab Technician Floater for its North and Main campuses in New Iberia, Louisiana. The role is responsible for maintaining skills in manual and automated testing of moderate- and high-complexity laboratory work across chemistry, hematology and coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, blood bank, and immunology. The technician follows quality control and quality assurance protocols, becomes proficient with the Laboratory Information System, complies with applicable regulatory requirements—including CAP, TJC, CMS, and OIG laboratory compliance requirements—and participates in proficiency testing.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or AMT.
• Current license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician with the LSBME.
• Six months of clinical training through an approved MLT training hospital or previous MLT experience.
• Working knowledge of waived, moderate-, and high-complexity testing in general chemistry, special chemistry, therapeutic drugs, toxicology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank, parasitology, serology, and microbiology.
• Analytical computer skills and knowledge of laboratory workflow.
