About The Position
The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) performs a dynamic range of daily work functions, including patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, and technical problem resolution. The position is based at MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma and is scheduled for nights, 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., seven days on and seven days off, at 0.88 FTE.
Requirements
- Associate degree. A 50-week military program may be accepted in lieu of an associate degree.
- Current Medical Laboratory Technician certification: MLT (ASCP)CM or MLT (ASCP).
- Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist certification or eligibility for that certification if duties will include phlebotomy.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of previous laboratory experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Receive specimens and establish and maintain positive identification of specimens.
- Determine specimen suitability and reject specimens when appropriate.
- Acquire and prepare reagents as needed.
- Perform instrument maintenance and calibration.
- Perform patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, and technical problem resolution.
