About The Position

Harrison County Hospital is seeking a Certified Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician. This full-time, night-shift position works 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., 36–40 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. The laboratory technician collects and processes specimens, performs tests, and reports results to support the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients. The role also supports laboratory operations through inventory management, supply ordering, proficiency testing, quality control, competency activities, procedure development, and performance improvement.

Requirements

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist by AMT or ASCP.
• Qualified to serve as General Supervisor or testing personnel under CLIA ’88.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Clinical experience as a component of educational programs.

Nice To Haves

• One to three years of clinical hospital work experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process specimens.
• Perform laboratory tests and report results to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.
• Manage inventory and order supplies.
• Conduct proficiency testing and quality control.
• Participate in competency activities.
• Contribute to procedure development and performance improvement activities.
• Perform other duties necessary for laboratory operations.
• Adhere to the hospital Corporate Compliance Plan.
• Complete annual PPD and Fire/Safety Training.
