About The Position

Harrison County Hospital is seeking a Certified Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician to join its laboratory team. This is a full-time night position working 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., 36–40 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays.

The laboratory technician performs specimen collection and processing, testing, and result reporting to provide information used in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients. The role also supports laboratory operations through inventory management, supply ordering, proficiency testing, quality control, competency activities, procedure development, and performance improvement.

Requirements

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist by AMT or ASCP.
• Must be qualified to serve as a General Supervisor or testing personnel under CLIA ’88.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Clinical experience as a component of educational programs.
• One to three years of clinical hospital work experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process specimens.
• Perform testing and report results to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.
• Support laboratory operations, including inventory management and supply ordering.
• Conduct proficiency testing, quality control, and competency activities.
• Participate in procedure development and performance improvement activities.
• Adhere to the hospital Corporate Compliance Plan.
• Complete annual PPD and annual fire/safety training.
