About The Position

Performs all required procedures relating to moderate and high complexity laboratory testing on all types of blood and body fluid specimens. Performs quality control procedures, instrument function checks, and preventative maintenance as required according to department policies and procedures. Teaches new employees laboratory policies and procedures. This position is designated for weekend coverage, with the expectation of occasional assignment to other shifts as needed.

Requirements

• Associates degree in MLT / B.S. degree in Medical Technology, or chemical, physical or biological science or chemical, physical or biological science with clinical training in a school approved by ASCP.
• Eligible for registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT,ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT,NCA) or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs all moderate and high complexity testing.
• Analyzes quality control data.
• Troubleshoots and corrects out of range results in a timely.
• Performs proficiency testing required for accreditation in a timely and accurate.
