About The Position
Performs high-volume, repetitive laboratory tests using standard procedures and identifies causes of technical and instrumental problems. This is a temporary assignment.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in biology, chemistry, medical technology, or physical science, or a degree that meets coursework and laboratory requirements.
- State of Tennessee license as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
- National certification (ASCP or AMT).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, and change tasks frequently and quickly.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality when handling patient information.
- Absolute integrity and accuracy in identifying and reporting numbers and names.
- Ability to make decisions concerning resources, technical problems, or other departmental needs with minimal direction.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a generalist or in a designated discipline is strongly preferred.
