About The Position

Texas Health Kaufman is seeking a Part-Time Medical Lab Scientist to join their Laboratory Department. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of patient results in a community hospital setting. The laboratory is newly remodeled and equipped with the latest technology. The Medical Lab Scientist will maintain specimen integrity, demonstrate cost-effectiveness, participate in training, adhere to THR Promise Behaviors, provide guidance to staff, and understand quality control guidelines. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred. Degree may be obtained within 3 months of hire.
Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program is required.
MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist 6 Months is required OR MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist 6 Months is required OR Other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology 6 Months is required OR M(ASCP) - Microbiology if working in Microbiology 6 Months is required.

Nice To Haves

Individuals hired as a CLS II prior to January 3, 2010 will be grandfathered to the MLS position with existing education.
2 Years experience in a Medical Laboratory is preferred.
