About The Position

Performs a variety of laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and body fluids using automated and manual methods. Ensures accurate and timely reporting of laboratory test results to assist medical staff in patient care. The position is per diem with a rotating shift.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or associate degree from an approved college or university, and/or graduation from an accredited school of medical technology, or an equivalent qualification such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489, or qualification at the Medical Technologist level through a satisfactory HHS examination or equivalent before 2/28/92 under 42 CFR 493.1491.
Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required.

Nice To Haves

Six months to one year of medical laboratory technologist or clinical laboratory scientist experience in an acute care facility.

Responsibilities

Process and test all types of laboratory specimens.
Review and report laboratory results.
Perform laboratory operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Act as a resource to other laboratory personnel.
Assist with new equipment validation and implementation.
Assist with employee training and competency assessment.
Carry out regulatory compliance responsibilities for CAP, TCJ, AABB, or other agencies.
Perform quality assurance, quality control, and instrument maintenance.
