About The Position
Mountain Community Health Partnership (MCHP) is seeking a full-time Medical Interpreter/Translator who also serves as a Patient Services Representative (PSR) when interpretation services are not required. This dual-role position helps ensure that patients receive quality care and support regardless of language.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Experience in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Nice To Haves
- Interpreter/Translator certification or training.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication between non-English-speaking patients and medical staff.
- Translate medical information accurately and clearly using appropriate terminology.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
- Assist with appointment reminders and patient follow-ups.
- Translate written materials and support staff with language needs.
- Greet and check in patients professionally.
- Manage appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and co-pay collection.
- Answer and direct phone calls and provide general clinic information.
- Support administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.
