About The Position

The Medical Intake Coordinator is responsible for the medical registration of new patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to communicate patient health information that requires treatment planning and/or further medical consultation. Requirements

  • CNA and/or Medical Assistant License (strongly preferred)
  • Experience in Mental Health Care (strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy - DocuSign (strongly preferred)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills
  • Robust organizational and time management skills, with noteworthy attention to detail
  • Team player with adaptiveness and agility
  • Current CPR certification (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceuticals (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Completion of FMLA paperwork requests
  • Manages the medical registration process of patients entering the healthcare facility
  • Provides administrative support to the Nursing Department and Psychiatry Department
  • Collects and documents intake information such as medication and health history
  • Communicates and collaborates with the nursing team regarding intake information
  • Collects and documents of vital signs, height, weight
  • Drafting medical documentation and lab orders under the direction of the psychiatry provider
  • Transcribing medical information to patient’s charts & communicating pertinent information to the treatment team
  • Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and client facility staff.
  • Provides supplementary assistance with infection control and prevention measures
  • Medication, medical supply, and equipment inventory
  • Initiating Prior Authorizations for medications and diagnostic tests
  • Participates in professional development activities
  • All other duties within the scope of training as assigned by the Director of Nursing
