Pivotal Health is looking for a detail oriented and driven Missing Information Specialist to join our growing healthcare operations team in Glen Burnie, Maryland. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced healthcare environment, enjoys problem solving, and takes pride in ensuring patient records and insurance information are accurate and complete. As a Missing Information Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting patient care operations by working directly with providers, patients, and medical documentation to resolve missing or incomplete information quickly and efficiently.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare, insurance, or a related field
- Understanding of medical terminology and medical records
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year of medical collections or medical billing experience
- Understanding of medical terminology and insurance payors
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Team player with a positive and professional attitude
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Contact providers by phone and fax to obtain missing medical records, diagnosis codes, and required documentation
- Review and analyze medical records for completeness and accuracy
- Verify and obtain insurance information from providers and patients
- Understand and work with diagnosis codes and contraindications
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow up on outstanding items
- Communicate professionally with providers, patients, and internal teams
- Support operational efficiency by ensuring records are processed in a timely manner
