About The Position

The Medical Imaging Patient Transporter coordinates and provides patient transportation to and from imaging and other hospital locations, using appropriate lifting and transfer techniques. The role works under the direct supervision of an Imaging Technologist and also assists with exam-suite needs, cleans transport equipment and imaging rooms, changes linens, and restocks supplies as needed.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• Excellent and professional communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to stoop and lift, stand, and walk without restrictions.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient transport under the direct supervision of the Imaging Technologist.
• Transport patients by cart or wheelchair to and from the Emergency Department, Medical Surgical Unit, and other hospital locations using appropriate transfer techniques.
• Verify patient identity before transport.
• Clean carts and wheelchairs after each use.
• Clean the imaging exam room and change linens after each patient; restock as needed.
• Assist the technologist in the exam suite as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
