About The Position

This role is for a Customer Service Engineer 3 responsible for servicing medical imaging, angiography, and/or cathlab equipment in the Detroit area. It is a field-based, customer-facing role that primarily installs, services, maintains, and modifies Siemens’ imaging equipment at customer sites. The engineer will be the "Face of Siemens" to the customer, initially supporting diagnostics modalities with potential for cross-training into other modalities. Flexibility is required for different shifts, on-call rotations, and overtime as business needs dictate, with advanced notice for any shift changes. The position reports to the Regional Service Manager at Siemens Medical Solutions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience performing service, preventative maintenance, and modifications on Medical Imaging Equipment at customer sites with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience with the desired Diagnostics Imaging Equipment.
  • Ability and experience to establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers.
  • Strong background working with electronics.
  • Proficient in the use of service tools and service test equipment.
  • Proficient PC skills (MS Windows & Microsoft Office 365 - Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Minimum high school diploma; technical Associates Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficiency in all necessary network applications and tools (including but not limited to eVO, mButler, MS Office applications, Concur, NAM Customer Service website—Engineer Tools).
  • Ability to locate, read, and understand documents for install, set-up, repair, troubleshooting, schematics, block diagrams and functional descriptions.
  • 5+ years' experience as a medical technologist or field service engineer (biomedical engineer) servicing diagnostic instruments needed.
  • Valid driver's license, ability to drive independently day and night, and good driving record required.
  • Must be able to work both individually and in an established team setting.
  • Must have full access to Siemens Healthineers' client sites to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Must meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to have full client access and must continue to meet those requirements during the course of employment.
  • A successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control law.
