In this role, you will be responsible for the daily opening and closing procedures of the office, welcoming patients and visitors, assisting in comforting patients, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, collecting co-pays, and balancing daily finances. You will also assist patients with forms, build and maintain patient records using an EMR system, monitor physician schedules, and assist with quality assurance surveys and prevention screenings. The position involves monitoring and responding to incoming messages from Care Team inboxes, ensuring patients are scheduled appropriately, and adhering to HIPAA confidentiality guidelines. You will contribute to a team effort by smoothly transitioning into other related daily roles as necessary, maintain daily office operations, and perform assigned tasks for special projects. This role requires willingness and ability to float to the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma, and Smithtown office locations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma with at least 2 years of patient facing reception experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to accept direction and work within a team concept
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to all of our NYCBS locations in Suffolk County

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 1yr of an EMR experience-Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the daily opening and closing procedures of the office.
  • Welcome all patients and visitors by greeting them in a pleasant, professional manner.
  • Assist in comforting patients and maintaining reception area.
  • Answer telephones; respond to inquiries; resolve issues; schedule patient appointments.
  • Collect co pays and balance total finances of the office on a daily basis.
  • Assist patients with the completion of all necessary forms and documentation.
  • Build and maintain patient records through the use of the practice EMR system.
  • Build, monitor and maintain physician schedules according to suggested scheduling rubrics.
  • Assist with the daily distribution of quality assurance surveys and prevention screenings.
  • Monitor and respond to incoming messages from Care Team inboxes in collaboration with nurse.
  • Monitor daily visit lists to ensure all patients who require appointments are scheduled appropriately.
  • Protect patient privacy by adhering to the HIPAA confidentiality guidelines.
  • Contribute to a team effort by smoothly transitioning into other related daily roles, as necessary.
  • Maintain daily operations of the office by following standard policies and procedures
  • Perform tasks as assigned for special projects.
