About The Position

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is seeking a Medical Education Student Tutor to assist students in understanding and learning subject material and achieving their personal academic goals by preparing them for upcoming class material. This is a non-exempt, hourly position.

Requirements

Successful completion of the tutoring course(s) that are assigned.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to collaborate with other tutors in shared sessions.
Good academic standing.
Have obtained a letter grade of “A” or a percentage range of 90% or higher in the course(s) the student tutors.

Nice To Haves

An official member of the Student American Academy of Osteopathy (SAAO).
Demonstrated motivation and true interest in OPP through course, experience, and/or during interview.

Responsibilities

Attends assigned training sessions.
Reviews course material and facilitates tutoring sessions for assigned course(s).
Delivers presentations to students which follow the current course syllabi.
Facilitates 2-hour tutoring/study table sessions with interactive learning activities.
Facilitates large review sessions.
Utilizes the following platforms and NSU systems regularly: Zoom: Video Conferencing, Web Conferencing, NSU SharkTime (payroll system).
Performs other duties as assigned.
