About The Position

This is a tutoring position that involves one-on-one tutoring of a peer's written work. The tutor will meet with the peer in an individual session, request the peer's needs and specific assignment for the session, go through the written document presented by the peer, and offer suggestions for editing and revising the document. The tutor will also write a conference summary at the end of the session and share it with the peer and instructor in COMPASS. This is a Summer II position only.

Requirements

  • Student worker must be enrolled for at least half time credit during the semester.
  • Student worker must have a GPA of 3.0 and above for the semester prior to the tutoring semester.
  • Student worker must have taken first year writing courses successfully or be in the Honors program successfully.
  • Must be enrolled in a matriculated program and registered at least half-time for Fall 2026.

  • Student worker must be interested in writing and reading.
