The Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is hiring a Medical Education Coordinator or Medical Education Administrator to serve as the Adult Neurology Residency Program Coordinator. The level will be determined according to the applicant’s education and experience. Medical Education Program Coordinators participate in planning, preparation, and implementation of educational programs, daily operations, orientation, workshops, and CME, graduate, or undergraduate medical education activities. They develop materials, coordinate calendars, interact with program participants, and support compliance with relevant national organizations. Much of the work is performed independently, with assignments and direction also provided by the Medical Education Manager and Program Directors. Medical Education Administrators oversee all aspects of a large education program or multiple programs, performing similar duties with greater authority, independence, or complexity. They liaise among students, administration, and program directors, and are responsible for recruitment, records, communications, accreditation requirements, and curriculum support. They serve as subject matter experts in medical education and oversee recruitment, training, performance, compliance, credentialing, accreditation, program agreements, and reporting processes. The position is based in Charlottesville, Virginia, and is eligible for a hybrid schedule of three days on Grounds per week, with additional on-site presence as needed under UVA’s remote work guidelines. It is a non-exempt, benefited position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Application review begins after October 20th. Background checks will be conducted on new hires before employment. Candidates requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered.
