The Medical Director role encompasses all the criteria of a Clinic Psychiatrist, with additional responsibilities specific to leadership and administration. This position collaborates with the Clinical Services Director (CSD) on policy and procedure development for medical services, including maintaining the Medical Services Policy Manual. The Medical Director provides input to RACSB administration on trends and needs affecting Medical Services, coordinates and leads monthly Medical Services staff meetings, and conveys agency policy and medical care delivery information to the staff. This role also coordinates Medical Services activities and assists in developing policies for other agency programs like the Crisis Receiving Center, Crisis Stabilization Program, ACT Program, MAT/OBOT services, and Residential Services. A key responsibility is providing leadership in the development and maintenance of an electronic medical record and electronic prescribing system in conjunction with the Information Technology department. The Medical Director also develops and reviews Medical Services staff schedules and collaborates with the CSD on setting goals and performance ratings for Medical Services staff. Additionally, this role reviews CARF standards related to medical policies and procedures and provides guidance during CARF surveys.
