About The Position

TeamHealth is seeking a medical director to lead its OB/GYN hospitalist program at HCA Florida Mercy Hospital in Miami, Florida. The medical director will oversee a team of OB/GYN physicians and help drive excellence in women's healthcare, partnering with experienced clinical and operational leaders who support OB/GYN hospitalist programs.

The role includes managing labor and delivery, covering unassigned OB patients, and providing in-house support for general OB and emergent GYN needs. The program uses a team-based approach and collaborates with nursing, neonatology, and maternal-fetal medicine (MFM), as well as a dedicated certified nurse midwife (CNM). The hospital provides 24/7 in-house anesthesia and level III NICU support. The position has no billing or coding responsibilities.

The opportunity is based at HCA Florida Mercy Hospital, a 488-bed full-service acute care facility in Miami-Dade County. The hospital has a private 25-bed NICU, advanced operating rooms, and enhanced labor and postpartum units.

Responsibilities

• Lead the OB/GYN hospitalist program at HCA Florida Mercy Hospital.
• Oversee a team of OB/GYN physicians.
• Manage labor and delivery.
• Provide coverage for unassigned OB patients.
• Provide in-house support for general OB and emergent GYN needs.
• Partner with clinical and operational leaders to support the OB/GYN hospitalist program.
• Lead onsite team drills and simulation training; an opportunity is offered as part of the CME program.
