About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking an experienced Medical Director to join their passionate team at Nebel Street Animal Hospital in Bethesda, MD. This is a full-service general practice hospital dedicated to staying current with the latest advancements in diagnostics, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative wellness. They provide top-of-the-line medical, surgical, and dental equipment, as well as an in-house laboratory and ultrasonography. The ideal candidate is passionate about high-quality veterinary medicine and thrives in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the medical operations within the hospital.
Serving as a mentor to the medical staff.
Leading the advancement of high-quality patient care and client service.
Serving as a mentor to staff, providing stability and leadership within the Hospital.
Supporting DVMs to develop an understanding and best practices of how behaviors impact revenue.
Providing DVM’s one on one development supporting quarterly production, reviewing production performance and coaching for improvement.
Working with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
Meeting regularly with the Hospital Manager to review controllable costs: DVM and Support Payroll, Inventory.
Working in collaboration with the Hospital Manager to maintain and build relationships with the referring community.
Evaluating and monitoring protocols for daily running/flow of hospital from intake to discharge.
Playing a significant part in the decision-making process and implementation of any new initiatives within their hospital.
Participating in weekly operational conference calls.
Participating in practice management updates and training at all levels.
