Your Role as Medical Director This is a hands-on clinical leadership position guiding a respected, multi-doctor hospital. You’ll have leadership influence while administrative operations are supported — allowing you to focus on medicine and mentorship. Requirements
- Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
- Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
- Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
- Strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
Responsibilities
- Lead and uphold medical standards of care
- Mentor and support three Associate DVMs
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager on workflow and hospital initiatives
- Guide case management and treatment approaches
- Foster a positive, accountable team culture
- Maintain an active clinical caseload
- overseeing all professional services, implementing veterinary and patient care policies and procedures, licenses, and related matters, and will ultimately serve as “Veterinarian in charge.”
