About The Position

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Service Line Medical Director provides oversight and leadership for clinical services across multiple departments within a line of services offered by SCF. The role also provides direct customer care in the assigned area. SCF programs primarily serve Alaska Native people affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees are expected to have a thorough understanding of the cultures and needs of this population, supporting SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness and its mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services. SCF requires employee health screenings and immunizations as a condition of employment. New employees must complete required screenings and immunizations before their first day of work; current employees must complete additional requirements as they arise.

Requirements

Current Alaska license.
Current American Board Certification in the specialty appropriate for the service.
Meet all requirements to obtain medical staff membership and required service privileges.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Three years of post-residency experience as a physician, or demonstrated proficiency as a physician at SCF.
Thorough understanding of the cultures and needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian population served by SCF.
Complete required job-related health screenings and immunizations as a condition of employment.
Obtain ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, PALS, and other certifications related to the scope of practice as required for the specialty.
