About The Position

The Department of Anesthesiology at Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a board-certified Pediatric/Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to lead, help grow, and provide services in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology at Inova Children’s Heart Center. The candidate will join a collaborative team of pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, surgeons, interventional cardiologists, and pediatric electrophysiologists. The team performs a significant number of pediatric cardiac and general cases annually. This role involves participation in call rotation and offers opportunities for academic appointment and teaching medical students and residents.

Requirements

MD or DO from an accredited university medical school.
Completed ACGME residency training and subsequent fellowship.
ABA certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology.
Comprehensive experience in pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
Current or eligibility for an unrestricted Virginia state medical license and DEA.
Prior leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Lead, help grow and provide services in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology at Inova Children’s Heart Center.
Perform Pediatric Cardiac surgical cases including the complete spectrum of pediatric heart disease for cardiac and non-cardiac based procedures except heart transplantation.
Engage in a mixed practice (pediatric/adult) with a majority of pediatric cardiac and pediatric general cases.
Participate in call rotation.
Work with a team of Anesthesiologists, potentially in a solo or care team model with CRNAs.
Work with medical students and residents (UVA and Walter Reed).
