About The Position

Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center & LSU Health Sciences Center is seeking an experienced and motivated leader for Medical Director of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport. This integrated teaching hospital and health system, in partnership with Ochsner Health, offers a role that includes clinical work as a hospitalist, scheduling faculty hospitalists, and developing/tracking/incentivizing quality metrics for the hospital medicine program. The position also involves teaching house staff and medical students, ensuring learner evaluation completion, and conducting annual performance evaluations for all hospitalists. Additionally, the role encompasses Director of Quality responsibilities, overseeing the hospital’s quality of care and leading quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine by ABIM or Family Medicine
Five years’ experience as a hospitalist
Excellent skills with regard to clinical medicine, leadership, communication, teaching
Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives
A forward-thinking, collaborative leadership style that promotes growth through faculty recruitment, community engagement, and development of innovative clinical programs
