About The Position

Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center & LSU Health Sciences Center is seeking an experienced and motivated leader for Medical Director of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport, an integrated teaching hospital and health system in partnership with Ochsner Health. This position involves clinical work as a hospitalist, managing the schedule for faculty hospitalists, and creating/tracking/incentivizing quality metrics for the hospital medicine program. Responsibilities also include teaching house staff and medical students, ensuring learner evaluation completion, and conducting annual performance evaluations for all hospitalists. The role encompasses Director of Quality, overseeing the hospital’s quality of care and leading quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine by ABIM or Family Medicine
Five years’ experience as a hospitalist
Excellent skills with regard to clinical medicine, leadership, communication, teaching
Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives
A forward-thinking, collaborative leadership style that promotes growth through faculty recruitment, community engagement, and development of innovative clinical programs
