About The Position

As part of the continued expansion of the Jackson Health System, the Jackson Medical Group, a growing multi-specialty physician network of over 40 physicians who practice throughout Miami-Dade County at over 7 different specialty care centers seek to hire an Interventional Cardiologist to join our highly regarded Jackson Heart Institute. As South Florida's most comprehensive cardiology program, we provide care and support to patients and families at every step of the journey, from routine cardiology care to complex cardiac surgeries. Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in Medicine is required.
  • Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
  • Valid Florida Medical License.
  • DEA and board certification or eligible in Cardiovascular Disease are required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.

Nice To Haves

  • Other specialty certifications related to specialty are a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of interventional cardiology procedures, including diagnostic cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, PCI, intravascular imaging, and physiologic lesion assessment.
  • Provide advanced management of acute coronary syndromes, including STEMI call coverage and emergent interventions.
  • Interpret non-invasive cardiovascular studies such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and vascular imaging as applicable.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with complex cardiovascular disease in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Provide consultative cardiology services for hospitalized patients, including ICU and step-down units.
  • Manage follow-up care for post-procedural patients and long-term cardiovascular disease management.
  • Maintain timely and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in interventional call rotation for emergent and urgent cardiac procedures.
  • Provide general cardiology call coverage as assigned.
  • Work closely with cardiology colleagues, hospitalists, intensivists, primary care providers, and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedural expectations.
