This role schedules procedures for Bismarck interventional radiology and cardiology departments. The RN Scheduler serves as Sanford systems administrator for both in-house and outpatient scheduling, responsible for the maintenance, security, teaching, and analytical recovery of the scheduling system. The position coordinates and schedules procedures, ensuring compliance with facility guidelines and documentation requirements. It acts as a liaison between providers, clinics, clinical teams, and other team members to maintain an efficient and accurate scheduling process. Key duties include managing department calendars in the EMR system, verifying documentation, procedure planning, and coordinating resources such as staffing, equipment, and anesthesia. The position also supports operational workflows by attending departmental meetings, distributing procedural reports, and assisting with patient flow. Additional responsibilities include collaborating across multiple departments, providing pre/post procedure instructions to patients and family, and working closely with prior authorization resources to ensure procedures are authorized before scheduling. May assist APPs in the clinic setting with rooming patients and providing patient education. The RN Scheduler upholds HIPAA standards and contributes to overall departmental service optimization.
