About The Position

Every day at KMM Group, our machinists manufacture components used in medical devices, aerospace systems, defense technologies, space exploration programs, and other mission-critical applications. The work is challenging. The tolerances are tight. The expectations are high. As a Medical Device Grinding Tech - Production, you'll become an expert in precision Guidewire and Corewire grinding processes. You'll work on both developmental projects and production jobs requiring exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. This is a hands-on position where you'll set up, program, operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and continuously improve complex grinding processes.

Requirements

  • Experience with precision guidewire grinding processes.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to set up, program, operate, inspect, and troubleshoot complex grinding processes.
  • Proficiency with precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and vision systems.
  • Ability to produce parts that consistently meet extremely tight tolerances.
  • Ability to work closely with Quality Assurance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot dimensional and process issues.
  • Ability to improve cycle times and machine performance.
  • Ability to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to develop stable, repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. export control regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of Guidewire grinding experience.
  • Experience with Glebar CAM grinding systems.
  • Experience with Royal Master GenX.
  • Experience with precision wire grinding.
  • Technical school, apprenticeship, or pre-apprenticeship training.
  • Experience with precision inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate Glebar CAM grinding machines in OD Mode, Centerless Mode, and Modified Mode.
  • Set up, program, and operate Royal Master GenX grinding machines.
  • Program and utilize P4K measuring systems.
  • Perform machine adjustments and optimize grinding processes.
  • Run multiple grinding machines and related operations simultaneously.
  • Inspect guidewires using Micrometers, Calipers, Optical comparators, Vision systems, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Produce parts that consistently meet extremely tight tolerances.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance on critical inspection requirements.
  • Troubleshoot dimensional and process issues.
  • Improve cycle times and machine performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help develop stable, repeatable manufacturing processes.
